SUE PATTERSON SALVER 2011 - JUNIOR/LADY COMPETITION Lovely weather and 28 pairs taking part. Rhea Horn from Leighton Buzzard who is only 8 played with Gill Ladd and this was her first 18 hole competition. The winners were Augustine Vale and Averill Simpson Leighton Buzzard with 35 pts. COUNTY FOURSOMES MATCHPLAY FINAL 2011 The match was played yesterday at Aspley Guise and eventual winners were Jean Hoar and Anne Mooney from South Beds Golf Club overcoming Jacky Levinson & Jo Evans from Caddington. They can now start to defend their title or you can challenge them in 2012 by completing the entry form which is available now.

PAVENHAM PARK WIN HANDICAP LEAGUE It came down to the very last game of the season: Pavenham versus John O'Gaunt. Whoever won would take the league title, and whoever lost would finish 3rd behind Aspley Guise. All 7 matches were tightly contested, but Pavenham came out on top and are the winners of the Shield League, having won 9 out of their 11 matches. Click here for the tables. Meanwhile in the scratch league, John O'Gaunt finished the season undefeated and won the league. The battle for 2nd was extremely tight with Bedford and County just edging out their rivals. HILARY AND LESLEY ROMP TO VICTORY Hilary Pearmain and Lesley Lewin from John O'Gaunt dovetailed beautifully in the 18 hole 4BBB stableford at Tilsworth to win by 5 clear shots. Their 45 point total earned them the Audrey Bradley Vases. Click here for all the winners.

JOC WINS PAST CAPTAINS CHAMPIONSHIP Jocelyn Faris from Beford and County relinquished the Seniors Championship that she has won for the last two years to Adrienne Lane, but got her consolation as she just pipped John O'Gaunt's Nikki Jackson to win the Past Captain's Championship. NITA AND HEDDWEN STORM THE JOLLY The Senior Ladies held their Autumn Jolly at Bedford & County Golf Club on Monday 12th September in almost storm force conditions. ADRIENNE ADDS SENIORS 2000 TO THE TROPHY CABINET Seniors Champion, Adrienne Lane from Dunstable Downs, was back in the winners enclosure when she edged out Anne Goodhead from South Beds in the final of the Seniors 2000 competition. In a great final played at The Bedfordshire on 16th September, Adrienne (left) won on 15th hole.

SALLY WINS AT AUTUMN MEETING Congratulations to Sally Shayler of the Bedfordshire on winning the Antcliffe Bowl and Gwen Walpole of Pavenham Park on winning the Ampthill Cup at the Autumn Meeting at Pavenham Park. JUNIORS V ESSEX: WE'RE NOT THAT FAR BEHIND THE BIG GUNS The Bedfordshire junior teams travelled to West Essex Golf Club where they took on a very strong Essex side (they had the 3 of the top girls in England playing. They started off in pouring rain and finished in sunshine and produced a very creditable result despite losing. The 1st team lost 4-2 in a very tight game, with Elena and Augustine winning their matches and Sophie only just missing out on the 18th and Kirsty on the 17th. The 2nd team lost 2-1, but we saw a promising start to Annabel Pitts' county career, as she won with partner Louise Eddy. Well played girls!! Click for Photos

KEEPING THE BALL ON A STRAIGHT LANE - ADRIENNE IS SENIOR CHAMPION Congratulations to Adrienne Lane of Dunstable Downs on winning her first Seniors Championship. A beautiful day at The Bedfordshire Golf Club saw Adrienne post the best gross score in a tightly fought competition. Nita McArthy won the Bond Trophy for the best nett score for ladies over 65, while the Lanaway Trophy for the best team score was won by the team from Aspley Guise.

2ND PLACE FOR SOPHIE IN EAST ANGLIA SCRATCH Sophie Hillier from John O'Gaunt played in the East Anglian Championship at Millbrook GC, posting another good performance. She shot level par in the morning and 4 over in the afternoon to finish 2nd overall to Suffolk's Blaize Edmonds. Sophie was first net and has cut her handicap down from 5.5 to 4.5. Stephanie Duffey from Aspley Guise also put in an excellent performance, finishing 3rd nett, also consolidating her 5 handicap. Well done to both girls

JUNIORS RECORD ANOTHER GREAT DRAW The Junior girls took on Norfolk at Bedfordshire golf club in their penultimate fixture of the season. Holidays and other commitments had somewhat depleted the team but the first team halved. The second team however lost 3 -0. Their final fixture will be against Essex over at West Essex golf club on September 4th.
