Lizi Qualifies for Daytona
Lizi finished 5th in the Region 2 NJCAA National Championship to qualify for the 4 round Championship final due to be held at the LPGA International course in Daytona Beach, Florida later in May. Lizi opened with an 82 and was in 2nd place after the 1st round on the Jimmie Austin course in Seminole, Oklahoma. A closing 88 was good enough to qualify alongside her team for the final. She will be hoping to play more of the course than last year when 18 inches of rain fell in the first 3 days and caused the tournament to be moved overnight to Orlando to get a result.
Lizi has signed and will transfer in August from Seminole State Junior College to Arkansas Tech University for her final 2 years to complete a degree in Art and Design. She has been offered a further full golf scholarship and will play in the NCAA Division 2 Championship for ATU. The University is located in Russellville, the hometown of former Major winner John Daly, who has helped design and develop the golfing facilities and lives locally on the golf course.
